Homie Malaysia (“we”, “us”, “our”) operates homiemalaysia.com to help people research and compare property listings, financing tools, and the MM2H programme in Malaysia. This policy explains what personal data we collect, why, and how we handle it in accordance with Malaysia’s Personal Data Protection Act 2010 (“PDPA”).

1. Information we collect

Contact details you provide — if you reach out via our WhatsApp button or enquiry form, we receive your name, phone/WhatsApp number, and any message or property preferences you share.
Calculator inputs — figures you enter into our mortgage, stamp duty, DSR, or affordability calculators (e.g. income, loan amount, property price) are used only to generate your results and are not stored against your identity unless you separately submit them through an enquiry.
Usage data — pages visited, time on site, device/browser type, approximate location, and referral source, collected automatically via Google Analytics 4.

We do not knowingly collect data from individuals under 18.

2. How we use your information

To respond to your enquiry and connect you with the relevant project or financing information.
To send updates you’ve asked for (e.g. new launches, pricing changes) via WhatsApp or email.
To understand how visitors use our site and improve its content and calculators.
To comply with our legal obligations under Malaysian law.

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data to third parties for their own marketing purposes.

3. Who we share your information with

WhatsApp / Meta — enquiries sent via our WhatsApp button are processed through WhatsApp’s platform, subject to WhatsApp’s own privacy policy.
Google LLC — Google Analytics 4 receives anonymised usage data. We do not send your name, phone number, or email address to Google.
Hosting provider — your data may pass through the servers of our website hosting provider in the course of normal operation.
Government authorities — where required by Malaysian law or a valid court order.

We currently handle enquiries directly by WhatsApp and email — we do not route your enquiry through a third-party CRM platform.

4. Cookies

We use essential cookies to keep the site functioning correctly, and Google Analytics 4 cookies to measure site usage (retained for up to 14 months). You can disable cookies in your browser settings, though some site features may not work as intended without them.

5. How long we keep your data

Enquiry details are kept for up to 24 months from your last interaction with us, then deleted or anonymised.
Analytics data follows Google Analytics 4’s default retention period (14 months).

6. Your rights under the PDPA

You may request to access, correct, or delete the personal data we hold about you, withdraw consent, or opt out of marketing messages at any time by messaging us on WhatsApp or emailing us (details below) and telling us to stop. We will respond within 21 working days.

7. Data security

We use HTTPS encryption and reasonable technical safeguards to protect your data. No system is completely secure, but we take reasonable steps consistent with the PDPA to protect the information you share with us.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date above reflects the most recent revision.
